Privacy Policy
GoPro Remote ("the App") is built with privacy as a core principle. We believe your footage and your data belong to you — not us, not the cloud, not advertisers.
What We Collect
Nothing. GoPro Remote does not collect, store, or transmit any personal data. Specifically:
- No account or login required
- No email, name, or personal information collected
- No analytics or tracking SDKs embedded
- No cookies or advertising identifiers used
- No data sent to any server
How the App Works
GoPro Remote connects directly to your GoPro camera over Bluetooth Low Energy (BLE) and, when needed for live preview or file transfers, over WiFi. All communication happens locally between your iPhone and your camera. No data passes through our servers because we don't have any.
Camera Data
When you use the media browser to download photos or videos, files are saved directly to your iPhone's Photo Library. We never access, copy, or transmit your footage.
Bluetooth and WiFi Permissions
The App requests Bluetooth and Local Network (WiFi) permissions to communicate with your GoPro camera. These permissions are used solely for camera control and are never used to scan for other devices, track your location, or collect any data.
Location Data
GoPro Remote does not request or use location permissions. If your GoPro camera embeds GPS data in photos or videos, that is handled by the camera's own firmware, not by our App.
Third-Party Services
GoPro Remote does not integrate any third-party analytics, advertising, crash reporting, or tracking services. The App is entirely self-contained.
Children's Privacy
Since we collect no data of any kind, there is no risk of collecting information from children under 13 (or any other age). The App complies with COPPA and equivalent regulations by design.
Data Storage and Security
There is no user data to store or secure. App preferences (such as your saved presets) are stored locally on your device using standard iOS mechanisms and are never transmitted.
Changes to This Policy
If we ever change this policy, we will update this page and the "Last updated" date above. Given our commitment to collecting no data, we don't anticipate significant changes.
